Michael Dowling
Michael is a Professor of Finance at Dublin City University, specialising in AI in finance, financial data science, and behavioural finance. Listed in the Stanford Top 2% of global researchers, he has over 50 international peer-reviewed publications, with his work on AI in finance featured in the Financial Times and World Economic Forum, and other research covered in the US White House Economic Report of the President.
He was Editor of the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Finance, the leading research journal in behavioural finance, and serves as an Associate Editor for several finance journals. He has taught in many leading international business schools, including Bayes Business School, Trinity College Dublin, and ESCP Business School, as well as advised on many international research development programmes.
He is the founder of an Enterprise Ireland-funded spinout developing generative AI for banking and previously led the AI-driven Business Centre at Rennes School of Business, the first such research and practice centre in Europe. Michael also advises governments, banks, and public agencies on AI and financial innovation.
