Art as an investment – how to build your own collection.
The German arm of ICMA Future Leaders (IFL) invited young professionals at ICMA member firms in Germany to an evening of networking.
The IFL is designed to benefit the younger generation of finance professionals in ICMA’s membership, connecting them with the services and networking opportunities to enhance their careers in debt capital markets.
The evening took place at the Rundgænger Gallery in Frankfurt which included a tour of the gallery and a brief discussion on art as an investment, followed by networking.
Rundgænger is the first gallery run by Daniel Schierke and Ralf Seinecke since 2015 in Frankfurt. The name “Rundgænger” origins from the concept of the gallery. Its program focusses on young artists who just finished their studies at an art academy or still are working there. During the annual exhibitions of the art schools, the so called “Rundgänge” Daniel scouts and finds the artists for the Rundgænger program. Some of the Artists featured there now are part of Schierke Seinecke.
Daniel studied history of arts and literature at Goethe-University Frankfurt. He worked for the most important museums and art institutions in Frankfurt, like Städel, MMK, Foto Forum or Art Foyer of DZ Bank, as an art guide or writer. As a partner he curated the private collection Young Städel Artists and since 2016 he is curator of the Frankfurt Art Stair at the oldest Frankfurt Hospital zum Heiligen Geist. It 2015 he opened the scouting Gallery Rundgænger together with Ralf.
Ralf is an academic and a lawyer. After his studies in law, philosophy, history of art, and his PhD. in legal theory he started the Gallery Rundgænger together with Daniel in 2015.
