Connecting future leaders with senior members of the ICMA community
Are you looking to expand your professional network and build connections with senior leaders? Would you like to hear more about the career journeys of leading members of the ICMA community?
ICMA Future Leaders (IFL) “Coffee Connection” is an initiative which enables a small group of young professionals to have an open, candid and interactive discussion with a leading figure in the capital markets, as well have an opportunity to meet others within the IFL community.
This Coffee Connection session will be with Benedict Tan, Global Head of Trading at OCBC.Benedict Tan is currently the Global Head of Trading for OCBC Bank. He sits in the Management Committee for the Global Markets Division.
He is also a member of the OCBC Group Market Risk Management Committee and represents the Global Markets, and contributes in identifying key market risk for the Bank’s global exposure. Since 2024, he is also the observer in the OCBC Group ALCO committee that manages the bank’s assets and liabilities globally.
Benedict represented OCBC Bank in several MAS organised committees. In 2017 and 2019, he was the Co-chairman of the SGD Repo Sub-group working committee. Since 2019 till currently, he is the Co-chairman of the Sub group (SC-STS) and a member of the Group 1 for Derivative Trading as part of the SFEMC and MAS effort to transition SGD SOR to SORA. He is a member of the bank IBOR Transition Steering Committee that manages and give advice on the whole transition from LIBOR to Risk Free Rates for all the businesses within the Group from 2021 to 2024.

The workshop will cover a comprehensive range of topics including: an overview of the Principles, financing themes such as climate transition, blue and biodiversity, overview of the EU/ASEAN taxonomies, an update on external reviews, disclosures and reporting as well as a case study on sustainability-linked bond issuance. Presenters will include representatives from ICMA, IFC, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, BofA Securities, RAM Sustainability and Dentons Hong Kong. |
